Botulinum toxin has been proven safe and effective for facial lines and wrinkles.  It received FDA approval for cosmetic use as Botox in 2002.  We can treat forehead wrinkles, crows feet/smile lines around the eyes, glabellar lines (the 11s between your eyebrows) and wrinkles around the mouth (smoker's or water bottle lines).   It is quick, easy and lasts 3-4 months.  Results appear in as little as 10-14 days!

 For cosmetic applications, botulinum toxin is considered safe and effective for reduction of facial wrinkles.  Commercial forms are marketed under the brand names Botox , Dysport and  Xeomin.  We currently use Xeomin in our office.  The effects of botulinum toxin injections  typically last two to four months.  Injection of botulinum toxin into the muscles under facial wrinkles causes relaxation of those muscles, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin. Smoothing of wrinkles is usually visible three to five days after injection, with maximum effect typically 1-2 weeks following injection.  Muscles can be treated repeatedly to maintain the smoothed appearance.
